The number of persons affected by inclement weather prevalent in 22 districts has currently exceeded 1.1 million.

The Disaster Management Centre said that 1 million 106380 persons belonging to 306959 families had been affected.

Disaster Management Centre Deputy Media Director Sarath Lal Kumara expressing his views further on the subject stated as follows:

Transport has been impeded on several roads island-wide as a result of earth slips and floods consequent up on the prevalent inclement weather.
