Issuing a communiqué the Election Commissioner said that no candidate or candidate’s representative or lawyers had made any request to him to postpone the election.

It has been proposed to provide additional time for issuing temporary identity cards and distributing official polling cards, since there are obstacles for these tasks.

The Election Commissioner said further that therefore it had been decided to extend the period of issuing  temporary identity cards  till January 3rd and that of distributing official polling cards till January 4th.
