Hospital services disrupted due to health service sector strike.
Government Nursing Officers’ Association stated that the one-day token strike staged by the paramedical and nursing professionals this morning, demanding an allowance increment, was a success.
The Chairman of the Association Saman Ratnapriya told our news team that the strike affected, medical services of several hospitals.
Our correspondents said that services were hindered due to the token strike at the main hospitals in the island including issuing of drugs, lab services, X-ray, Scan and E.C.G. tests.
Due to the strike, the Director of Colombo National Hospital Doctor Anil Jasinghe said that the strike has interrupted the services of dispensing of drugs and medical tests.
However, he stated that surgeries and other services continue as usual.
