The suspect, who was arrested with regard to the killing of four of the same family in Wennappuwa, has committed suicide by jumping into the Ma-Oya.

A Lunuwila Hospital dentist, her husband and two children were killed last Thursday and their bodies were recovered by the Police from a pit behind the house of the deceased family.

It was reported that the guard of a coir mill they owned had disappeared from the area as well.

The Police conducted investigations in to the incident and managed to arrest the suspect from the residence of a woman he had an illicit affair with.

When the suspect was taken to recover the axe, that he allegedly used to kill the victims, Police said he had assaulted the Police officers and had jumped to the Maa-Oya.

Naina-madama quadruple murder suspect arrested.

The main suspect in connection with the recent quadruple murder in the Wennappuwa area has been arrested.

Police launched an investigation following the discovery of the bodies of four members of the same family which were recovered from a pit behind a coir factory in Nainamadama area in Wennappuwa on the 1st.

The victims were identified as a female dental surgeon attached to the Lunuwila hospital, her husband, their 13-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter.

Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that an individual who had served as a watcher at the coir factory, has been arrested in connection with the murders.

During interrogation, the suspect has confessed to committing the murders with help from his illicit lover.

Nainamaduwa quadruple murder suspect arrested

The main suspect of the Nainamaduwa quadruple murder was arrested this morning.

Bodies of a doctor and 3 of her family members, believed to be murdered, have been found from a pit at Nainamadama in Wennappuwa on the 1st.
