Observers including foreign monitors ready for the election.

The election monitoring networks say that election monitors have been deployed island-wide for monitoring the presidential election held today.

Election watchdog PAFFEREL said that about 13,000 observers had been deployed for monitoring the election.

Meanwhile 55 observers from South Asian Election Authority Collective and the South Asian Election Monitoring Organisations will be engaged in the presidential election monitoring.

These international monitoring groups which arrived in the island on December 7th is scheduled to remain in the country till 11th   of  this month.
