Power change of all UPFA controlled Provincial councils imminent.
The political sources stated that an imminent change of power of the Provincial Councils except the Northern PC is expected in the next few days.
Accordingly the Common Opposition likely to grab power of the North Central, Western, Uva, North Western, Eastern, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provincial Councils.
Oppositions of several provincial councils including the Eastern Provincial council secured more seats after several UPFA membersquit the government as their party leaders pledged support to then common candidate Maithreepala Sirisena.
Among the provincial councilors who quit the UPFA controlled provincial councils are All Ceylon Muslim Congress led by MP Rishard Badi Udin and Sri Lanka Muslim Congress led by MP Rauff Hakeem.
Meanwhile UNP group leader of the Eastern Provincial council Daya Gamage said in a media conference held in Colombo today that power of the Eastern PC would be changed before January 20.
Eastern Provincial council Opposition Leader and TNA member C. Thandayudapani and SLMC group leader Mohammad Jemeel also participated in this media conference.
Meanwhile Western Provincial Council Opposition Leader and UNP member Manju Sri Arangala said that his party together with other opposition coalitions is currently discussing about making a power change in the council.
Meanwhile political sources close to the other provincial councils stated that power change could take place in other provincial councils in the country.
