Minister of Internal Transport Ranjith Madduma-bandara stated that transport facilities have been provided for the devotees to attend the mass at Galle Face Green at 8.30 next morning held under the patronage of His Holiness Pope Francis.

According to the minister, 650 SLTB buses have been allocated to operate between Chilaw to Aluthgama

The minister added that devotees can travel to Galle Face Green free of charge, and that they have also reduced the rate of railway tickets by 50 percent.

His Holiness who arrived in Sri Lanka this morning has reached the Apostolic Residence in Borella via Bauddhaloka Mawatha.
