Police says that further investigations will be carried out with regard to the airplane found in a store at the Narahenpita Economic Centre.
The airplane was found at the Economic Centre last afternoon on a tip-off received by the Police Emergency Call Division.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that this was a small two-seater airplane that was out of commission.
However a senior police spokesman said that the police had sealed the economic centre to enable further probe with regard to the incident.
Meanwhile certain reports said that veteran film director Chandram Ratnam had said that the mini airplane found stored at the Narahenpita Economic Centre belonged to him.
Another report said that while this mini airplane was not in a running condition, Chandram Ratnam had said that he had given it to former president’s son Yoshita Rajapaksa as per the latter’s request.
Although our news team tried to contact Film Director Chandram Ratnam’s, the attempt failed as the phone had been switched off.
