3 Presidential Advisors appointed

President Maithreepala Sirisena has appointed three new presidential advisors namely Austin Fernando, Thilak Ranaviraja and W.J.S. Karunaratne.

The letters of appointment have been handed over to them at the Presidential Secretariat today.

Austin Fernando who claims to vast experience in public service has also served as a Defence Secretary before.

As a Senior Administrative Officer, Thilak Ranaviraja has held several top positions in the government for several decades and has served as the Secretary of Civil Security, Law and Order, Media, Telecommunication and Postal Services, Health and Indigenous Medicine, Social Welfare, Mahaweli, Irrigation, Power and Energy ministries.

W.J.S. Karunaratne has served as the secretary to former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaranatunga as well as the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Canada for some time.
