Protests were held today at several areas against some politicians held power under the UPFA government.

The JHU held a protest against Western Provincial Councilor Udaya Gammanpila in front of his office at Borella today.

A protest was held at Ahangama town this morning demanding the government not to take deputy speaker Chandima Weerakkody to the new government.

Meanwhile another protest was held at Mahiyangana town against the move to take Anura Vida agamage to the government.

In addition, residents in Godakawela also protested demanding the government not to take Ratnapura district MP Ranjith Soyza to the government.

Some residents of Welimada also protested against Uva Provincial Councilor A.M. Buddhadasa for his decision to support for Harin Fernando to become the chief minister.
