Private bus owners ready to drop bus fares by 7%; Minimum fare to be Rs. 8

Lanka Private Bus owners’ Association has decided to reduce the private bus fare by 7% and the minimum bus fare by 1 rupee.

Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today, Chairman of the Association, Gamunu Wijeratne said that the bus fares were dropped due to the drop in fuel prices.

Accordingly, the current minimum bus fare Rs. 9 would decline to Rs. 8.

Deputy General Manager of SLTB stated that bus fares of SLTB buses will be also reduced in line with the revision of fuel prices.

Signs of bus fares reducing.

Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association says that steps will also be taken to reduce bus fares in proportion to the reduced fuel price.
