President emphasizes the importance of preparing new generation to face the challenges of the world

President Maithreepala Sirisena says that it is important to prepare children for cosmopolitan scenario in order to open a new start for the new generation.

After opening the Edex exhibition at the BMICH this morning, the President said that children of this country should not limit themselves to face only challenges within the country.

He added that some parents think that competition is confined to the classroom or village, and emphasized that children should broaden their horizon and be familiar with diverse fields in order to be successful

President Maithreepala Sirisena further expressing his views said that the country in the past has shown considerable progress in economical, cultural and philosophical aspects.

Therefore, the parents and the school have to shoulder a great responsibility to prepare children for this cause
