A new political culture was created after sacrificing a lot; says President in Polonnaruwa.

A ceremony was held in Polonnaruwa today to welcome President Maithripala Sirisena.

President Maithripala Sirisena addressed the public in Polonnaruwa for the first time after assuming office.

Before arriving in Polonnaruwa, the President visited the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodiya and obtained blessings from the Venerable Pallegama Siri-nivasa thero.

President also paid a courtesy call on the Anu Nayaka of the Ramannya Chapter, most venerable Girabe Ananda thero.

Venerable Girabe Ananda thero stated that the President as a leader who feels the pulse of the people has the vision and the strength t take the country along the correct path.

Addressing a meeting in Polonnaruwa President Maithripala Sirisena said that a new political culture has been created in the country and many sacrifices were made to create that change.
