"Kidney diseases to be prevented at any cost" - President

Every measure to be taken to provide every facility to treat kidney patients as well as to prevent kidney diseases proliferation, stressed President Maithripala Sirisena. On this regard, the Government will take every possible action on behalf of people, without prostrating to multi-national companies (MNCs) or any other market force, he said.

The President symbolically handed over the grants to some kidney patients at this occasion.

The Preseident Sirisena stressed this while speaking at a ceremony held in Buddhi Mandapaya in Polonnaruwa yesterday (26th) to deliver grants of Rs. 3000.00 to kidney disease victims. The President symbolically handed over the allowances to some kidney patients at the occasion.

President Maithripala Sirisena emphasized that the kidney diseases have been stretching its muscles not only in Raja Rata, but also in most rural areas in the country. He pointed out that he would take every possible action without any hesitation to provide quick solutions to this issue.

The President pronounced that a sub-committee will be appointed on prevention of kidney diseases. The precautionary measures will be instigated based on the recommendations of the committee comprised of medical specialist, he added.
