CJ ignores BASL stance: Spokesman

The Chief Justice will be not panicked about the statements made by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) and continue to as the Chief Justice, his media spokesman Attorney Wijeratne Kodippily said.

Attorney Wijeratne Kodippily who claimed himself as Chief Justice Mohan Peiris’ media spokesman stated that he would continue to function as the Chief Justice (CJ) in spite of the statements made by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL).

The BASL has called for the CJ’s resignation on the grounds that by his pre-dawn reported incident at Temple Trees he had failed to maintain his impartiality dignity as requisite by the Constitution.
