The lawyers’ collective has decided to protest continuously until Chief Justice Mohan Peries resigns from his post.

The joint convener of the lawyer's collective Attorney-at-law Sunil Watagala told our news team the protest would begin tomorrow at 9 in the morning in front of the court complex at Hulftsdorp.

The executive committee of the Bar Association also met in Colombo recently to discuss future action to be taken against the Chief Justice.

Bar Association Secretary Ajith Pathirana said that the decision taken by the association would be announced within today.

The CID recently obtained a statement from the Chief Justice about the alleged coup that has been hatched at Temple Trees in the night of presidential Election Day.

Meanwhile Judiciary Association of Sri Lanka stated yesterday in its communiqué that its members were surprised to learn the presence of the Chief Justice at Temple Trees in the night of Election Day.
