U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal who is on a 3-day official tour in Sri Lanka met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and several top envoys of the government.
According to the Prime Minister’s office, US Assistant Secretary Nisha Biswal met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Temple Trees, and held talks on bilateral diplomatic affairs.
Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera says that the diplomatic relations between the United States and Sri Lanka would be brought to new levels.
Minister Samaraweera expressed these views during a joint media conference held this morning after his meeting with visiting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal.
