Several factions filed petitions with the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption today.

Among them are Joint Trade Union Federation of Ceylon Electricity Board, Anti corruption Front and Lanka Teachers Services Association.

The Joint Trade Union Federation of Ceylon Electricity Board filed a petition charging that monetary frauds have been taken place in increasing salaries of a selected group including the former General Manager of the Ceylon Electricity Board.

Meanwhile General Secretary of Lanka Teachers Service Association Mahinda Jayasinghe expressed his views on his petition against former minister Bandula Gunawardana and former Education Ministry Secretary.

Meanwhile Anti Corruption Front staged a protest in front of the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption charging the lukewarm attitude by the Commission towards the investigation of the petitions filed by the Anti Corruption Front.

A number of activists including Shiral Laktilaka, Ulapane Sumangala Thera and Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe joined in the protest.

Later Anti Corruption Front convener Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe expressed his views to the media.
