Hakeem receives green signal from TNA
TNA states that the invitation extended by SLMC to establish a national regime within the Eastern province was a good one.
When enquired by our news team regarding the matter, MP P. Ariyanendran of the party said that the decision regarding the invitation will be announced in future.
While speaking during a media briefing convened at the SLMC headquarters today, the party leader Minister Rauf Hakeem invited both TNA and the UNP to form a national regime.
In response to the invitation, TNA MP P. Ariyanendran stated that it was a good suggestion and that the party will discuss regarding the matter and will inform the decision to the SLMC leader.
SLMC councilor Haafees Nazir Ahamed took his oaths as the new Chief Minister of the Eastern provincial council, which comprise of 37 councilors, on the 6th of this month.
He was sworn in after 19 councilors submitted their affidavits to appoint him as the Chief Minister.
Previously, Abdul Majeed served as the Chief Minister of UPFA governed Eastern provincial council.
