Seegiriya Mirror wall case to be probed

The archaeological department has begun a special probe with regard to causing damage to the Seegiriya Mirror Wall.

A young woman aged 27 was remanded until 18th of February over causing damage to the mirror wall when visiting Seegiriya.

It is said that the young woman concerned had marked on the mirror wall her name and ‘Thank you’.

It is noteworthy that notices in Sinhala, Tamil and English are displayed for the information of visitors to the mirror wall not to cause damage to it.

In addition two archaeological officials are also deployed at the site to protect the mirror wall.

The Archaeological Department said that it had begun a special probe with regard to causing damage to the mirror wall in spite of deployment of officials.
