The Wildlife Department has taken action to construct a live fence as a pilot project for minimizing wild elephant threat.

The Wildlife Department said that accordingly a fence consisting of hemp, buoganvilea and lime plants would be constructed.

Reports say that even by now constructing a 22-kilometre fence comprising those plants from the vicinity of the Kantale tank up to Ayil-Adiya has commenced.
