India to widen oil & gas exploration in SL

India and Sri Lanka agreed to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation in oil and gas sector.

This was agreed during when visiting Sri Lankan Minister for Power Patali Champika Ranawaka met Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to discuss bilateral cooperation in oil and gas sector.

The two Ministers reviewed the existing cooperation between the two countries on hydrocarbon sector.

Sri Lanka and its closet neighbour India have agreed to expand cooperation in a number of sectors including defence, energy, trade, investment, agriculture and healthcare.

The two sides agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries when President Maithripala Sirisena met Indian's Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday in New Delhi.
