Police stated that a special traffic plan will be initiated in Colombo for the day in view of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.

Details of the closed restricted roads are as follows:

3:15 pm to 4:30 pm – Vehicular movement will be restricted from Galle Face, N.S.A. junction, Lotus Road, Ceramic Junction through Slave Island areas.

6:15 pm to 6:45 pm – Vehicular movement will be restricted from Galle Face, Colpetty Junction, Dharmapala Mawatha, Liberty Junction, R. A. de Mel road through Thurstan road to the official residence of the Indian High Commission.

8:15 pm to 9:00 pm – Special traffic plan will be in effect from the official residence of the Indian high commission through Thurstan Road, O.J.C junction, Glasshouse junction, Horton Place, D.S. Sennanayake junction, Baseline to New Kelaniya bridge Borella Orugodawatta junction, Katunayake expressway to Katunayake Bandaranayake International Airport (BIA).

Police media spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ruwan Gunasekara requests the public to use optional routes during the given times.
