The protest staged by United Lanka Container Owners Association against allowing outside container vehicles to enter the Colombo Port, continues today for the second consecutive day.

The Association President Udeni Kalutantri told our news team that 3 Wharf Clerks Associations and Port Workers have also extended their solidarity to the Container Drivers’ protest.

The Container drivers and assistants parked their vehicles near Inguru Kade junction yesterday morning before they started the protest.

Meanwhile our attempt to contact Port Authority Deputy Chairman Asitha Wijesinghe went futile as he did not respond to our phone calls.
