Colombo named as high Dengue risk zone

The Colombo Municipal Council says that three High Risk Zones within the Colombo City, where Dengue mosquitoes could spread, have been named.

CMC Medical Officer Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni told our news team that by now an increase in Dengue patients was observed in many areas around Colombo city.

Meanwhile the national dengue eradication week begins from today.

It will be effective till April 01st.

While this year up to now 10 thousand 350 Dengue patients have been reported, there were 20 deaths due to Dengue.
