The convener of the JVP alternative group Anuruddha Polgampola visited the Bribery Commission today to enquire about the delay to investigate his complaints against Minister Rajitha Senarathna.

Polgampola asked in his complaint to investigate alleged wrong doings that occurred in the fisheries ministry during the tenure of minister Senarathna.

Polgampola charged in his complaint that corruption had occurred during the purchase of life jackets by the then ministry functioned under Rajitha Senarathna.

Polgampola says that 32 thousand life jackets have been purchased violating the tender procedure.

He further stated that the tender has been given according to the minister’s whims and fancies therefore the purchased life jackets are not up to the required standards.

However Minister Rajitha Senarathna has not yet been summoned to the Bribery Commission.

Convener of the JVP alternative group Anuruddha Polgampola told our news team that he visited Bribery Commission to enquire about the delay to take action.

He further said that there is a possibility of misplacing the respective documents with regard to this investigation.
