Offenders will be punished while safeguarding the sovereignty of the Judiciary; says Prime Minister

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe reiterates that he is not ready to act like the previous regime which disrupted the rule of law which penalized the offenders.

The Prime Minister stated that measures have been taken as per the frame of law under the current regime.

The prime minister stated this while addressing a summit of the Ampara UNP activists.

Several UNP councilors representing the Eastern provincial council as well as Pradeshiya Sabha councilors also attended the summit in Ampara.

It was also noteworthy that former regime’s Senior Minister and Parliamentarian P. Dayaratne participating in the summit.
