4 suspects who wore full face helmets and engaged in several robberies have been arrested.

Police also took into custody a T-56 firearm and 30 bullets in the possession of the suspects.

The Police were able to arrest the suspects following the investigations carried out on the 310 thousand rupees cash robbery of a whole sale shop in Homagama last year.

The investigations were carried out under the direct supervision of Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Pujith Jayasundera.

The suspects are also responsible for a murder they committed on September 29th last year.

The Police media spokesman said these suspects have robbed two fuel stations in Kesbewa and Weliweriya.

Apart from them, they have also robbed 5 million rupees from two private financial institutions in Bokundara and Aththidiya.

At the same time, these suspects had been operative in Wellawatta, Maharagama and Kottawa as well.

The Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the suspects have used full face helmets when committing these robberies.
