29 Lankans arrived from Yemen

The Foreign Affairs Ministry said the Government has at present evacuated 54 Sri Lankans from Yemen.

According to a Ministry statement, 43 Sri Lankans were evacuated to Djibouti by a Chinese vessel on 6th April 2015, while India and Indonesia each evacuated 3 Sri Lankans.

Sri Lanka High Commissioner in Nairobi has set up an operational center in Djibouti to coordinate evacuation and repatriation of Sri Lankans.

The Ministry said 29 Sri Lankans arrived in Colombo from Djibouti last night.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating closely with the Ministry of Foreign Employment and the Foreign Employment Bureau to bring back the remaining Sri Lankans.
