Update : Killer son confesses before Magistrate
The 18-year old suspect who allegedly killed his mother in Kotaketana at Kahawatta has confessed before the Pelmadulla Magistrate today.
Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera told our news team the Magistrate Dinesh Lakmal Perera permitted the Colombo Crimes Division to detain the suspect for 48 hours and question him further.
However, the Magistrate ordered police to produce the suspect before the court tomorrow as well.

The suspect of Kotaketana in Kahawatta who allegedly killed his mother will be produced before the Pelmadulla Magistrate today.
Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the suspect is detained under a court order for 48 hours for questioning.
Police arrested the son of the victim who stayed in the house during the fateful night.
During questioning, the suspect has confessed to police that he killed his mother as she refused to give him money to buy a present for his girl friend.
The suspect has attempted to commit suicide with a knife after he was refused money, and the suspect has attacked his mother when she tried to prevent him from committing suicide.

The 18 year old son of the woman who was killed recently in the Kotakethana area in Kahawatte has been arrested yesterday in connection with the murder.
Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that the son who was at the house the night of the murder has made a confession.
