Lankans trapped in Yemen return to the isle

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ajith P. Perera states that they have repatriated all Sri Lankans who were trapped amidst Yemeni conflicts, expecting to return to the island.

The Deputy Minister stated that they have taken measures to bring back 60 Sri Lankans to the island.

However, 8 Sri Lankans who refused to return to the island, still remain in Yemen.

29 Sri Lankans who were stranded in Yemen were brought back to the island on the 8th of this month.

A group of Sri Lankans were brought to Djibouti state from Hudaydah Port by a Chinese vessel.

Later the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Foreign Employment Bureau took measures to bring them back to the island by air from Djibouti through Oman.
