Update : Rohitha Abeygunawardene kicked out
Former Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardana has been sacked from the SLFP Central Working Committee.
When contacted, former Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardana confirmed that he had received the letter with regard to his removal from the party central working committee.
MPs Salinda Dissanayake, T.B. Ekanayake, S.M. Chandrasena and Bandula Gunawardana were also sacked from the SLFP Central Working Committee recently.
Former Minister Chandrasena said that he and his counterparts expect to take legal action against the removal of them from the Central Working Committee membership.
Earlier, party sources stated that several senior SLFP members of the Central Working Committee said that they have drawn the attention to recalling the sacked members to the duty.
Meanwhile, it is reported that 30 SLFP MPs who visited former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at his Carlton house in Tangalle today, had a long discussion with him.
Parliamentarians including Bandula Gunawardena, Johnston Fernando, Wasudewa Nanayakkara, Kumara Welgama, Dinesh Gunawardena, T.B. Ekanayake, Arundika Fernando, Lakshman Wasantha Perera, Sarath Weerasekara, Salinda Dissanayake, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Jayantha Ketagoda, Gamini Lokuge, Wimal Weerawansa, Ranjith Soyza, Chamika Buddadasa, Namal Rajapaksa, Dallas Alapperuma, Sachin de Vaas Gunawardena, Lohan Ratwatte, G.L. Pieris, S.M. Chandrasena, Mohan de Silva, Renuka Vidanagamage, Senaka Vidanagamage, Nishantha Muthuhettigama, Keheliya Rambukwella, Geethanjana Gunawardena, Sriyani Wijewickrama as well as a minister of the new regime Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena also met former President Mahinda Rajapaksa today.

Former Minister Abeygunawardana stated that he has received the relevant letter.
