MPs sacked from SLFP Central Working Committee to take legal measures against party decision

The 5 MPs sacked from the SLFP Central Working Committee have convened a media conference this afternoon at Carlton House in Tangalle.

One of the sacked MPs and former Minister Bandula Gunawardana said that the group would seek legal action against the party decision to remove them from the Central Working Committee membership.

Former Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardana said that the decision regarding this matter depends on the SLFP supporters and the 5.8 million voters who voted for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Other MPs in the defiant group, T.B. Ekanayake, S.M. Chandrasena and Salinda Dissanayake also expressed their views during the media conference.
