Somawansha quits JVP; Power struggle begins

General Secretary of the First Front Nandana Gunathilaka says that the resignation of Former Leader of the JVP Somawansha Amarasinghe from the party would cause a tremendous impact on Sri Lanka’s political culture.

Politburo Member of the National Freedom Front Piyasiri Wijenayake stated that this decision should have been taken in 2008.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of the Frontline Socialist Party Senadheera Gunathilaka stated that the resignation of the former leader of the JVP Somawansha Amarasinghe is an indication of the power struggle within the party.
