19th amendment will pass - Minister Lakshman Kiriella states with certainty
Minister Lakshman Kiriella states that there’s an attempt to postpone the election, by highlighting the need of an amendment in the electoral system.
Attending a ceremony held at a tea factory in Kalubowitiyana in Deniyaya, Matara today, the Minister stated that he is certain that the 19th amendment would be passed.
The Minister stated that they are attempting to build a country which will be ruled by three factions including the President, Prime Minister and the independent commissions.
He also reiterated that the election will not be postponed and after passing the 19th amendment on the 21st, they will take measures to call for a General Election promptly.
