The Disaster Managment Center said that a landslide has been reported in a 5-acre land area in Nikapotha, Haldamulla this morning.

Disaster Management Center Assistant Director E.M.L. Udayakumara said the land slide of this uninhabited rubber estate started last night.

Earlier, 13 villagers of Meeriyabedda of Koslanda at Haldummulla died in a landslide that hit the area on October 29th.

The Ella-Wellawaya road was blocked after earth banks fell on the road last night.

However, the road has now been cleared for traffic.

An Air Force helicopter has been deployed to inspected the landslide affected area at Damaneeyatenna in Haldummulla, Haputale.

An officer attached to the Disaster Management Centre told our news team that they have inspected the area by helicopter on several occasions.
