It is the responsibility of the President to pass the 19th amendment; Otherwise dissolve parliament; says UNP to the President

The UNP stated today that there is no option, other than dissolving parliament, if the 19th Amendment Bill is defeated.

Addressing a media conference held in Colombo today, Deputy Foreign Minister Ajith P Perera said it is the responsibility of the president to consolidate two third majority within parliament to pass this Bill.

However, opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva said that his party is ready to vote for the 19th Constitutional Amendment.
