Dehiwala Youths missing case: AG department refuses to provide legal aid to Navy

Regarding the court case of the disappearance of 5 youths in Dehiwala area in 2008, the Attorney General Department informed the court that they will not appear on behalf of the Navy from this point onward.

They informed the matter when the case was taken for hearing before the Colombo Magistrate Court today.

The respondents of the case have been named as the Attorney General, the IGP and the Commander of the Navy.

Additional Solicitor General Shavendra Silva who appeared on behalf of the government, stated that he will not appear on behalf of the Navy in the future hearings.
