SLFP to discuss 19th and 20th amendments again

A special meeting of the SLFP parliamentary group will be held at the Presidential Secretariat at 7pm tomorrow.

The meeting will be convened under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.

According to SLFP sources, during the meeting - special emphasis will be given to the 19th amendment as well as the 20th amendment which focus on the changes to the electoral system.

The Central Working Committee and the Executive Committee met recently and decided to vote in favour of the 19th amendment.

However, they also intend to propose several changes to certain facts included in the amendment.

Deputy Minister of Mass Media Shantha Bandara told our news team that they will give special attention to these matters tomorrow.
