Distorting National Flag is a breach of constitution - PM

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe states that the act of displaying an altered National flag by certain factions is a breach of the constitution.

The Prime Minister shows that the national flag is the symbol of national unity.

Therefore, the group of public representatives who displayed an altered national flag recently have breached the constitution.  
The Prime Minister stated this while attending a ceremony held at Badulla provincial council auditorium this morning.

An altered national flag was displayed during a demonstration staged in front of the Bribery Commission recently, against the summoning of the former Defence Secretary to the Commission.
