Ex-CJ Shirani's lawyers blame good governance

The Colombo Chief Magistrate ordered today to postpone a case against former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake to the 21st of July.

This case has been filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against the former CJ in connection with her failure to declare her assets and liability.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya postponed the case over a contradiction of letters exchanged between the two parties.

However lawyer appeared for former CJ, Gunarathne Wanninayake stated that if justice is not meted out for Shirani Bandaranayake, the entire law community will take action against the good governance.
