Former UNP general secretary MP Tissa Attanayake says that the UNP should take a stock of the service he had rendered.

The Supreme Court yesterday decided that the removal f former UNP general secretary MP Tissa Attanayake was illegal.

That was in releasing the verdict with regard to the Fundamental Rights petition MP Tissa Attanayake had filed requesting for the prevention of removal of him from party membership.

Our News Team inquired about this from former UNP general secretary MP Tissa Attanayake.

Replying to the query the MP said further that he would be taking a political decision within the next few weeks.

Tissa's expulsion invalid: SC

The Supreme Court decided today that the expulsion of former UNP General Secretary from the party is illegitimate.

This decision was taken after considering the fundamental rights petition filed by Tissa Attanayake requesting the Supreme Court to prevent his expulsion.

The decision was given by a panel of three member Supreme Court judges including Supreme Court Judges Rohini Marasinghe, Priyantha Jayawardana and Buwaneka Aluvihare.
