Wildlife officers recovered yesterday three illegally kept  elephant calves.

Wildlife Director General H. D. Ratnayake said that these elephant calves had been recovered from Alawwa in Thulhiriya, Delgoda in Gampaha and Bandaragama. .

The Director General also said that the ages of these elephant calves were between five and seven.

These three elephant calves are currently kept at the wildlife department main office premises in Battaramulla.

The Wildlife Director General said that these elephant calves would be kept at the Pinnavala Elephant Orphanage after producing submitting relevant documents at the Hulfstdorf Magistrate  Court today.
