Update : Johnston further remanded

Former minister Johnston Fernando was remanded again until 11th of this month in connection with a financial fraud.

Former minister Fernando was arrested yesterday by Police Financial Crime Investigation Division in connection with allegedly removing 5 million 275 thousand 316 rupees worth goods from Lak Sathosa outlets without making any payment.

Later, the former minister was remanded until today when he was produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.

In addition, on the orders of Colombo Chief Magistrate, Fernando and former Lak Sathosa Chairman were produced before Kurunegala Chief Magistrate.

Kurunegala Chief Magistrate Ravindra Premarathna remanded the former minister and his former Lak Sathosa Chairman K.M.R Fernando until the 11th of this month.
