Nauzer Fowzie arrested

The UPFA Provincial Councilor Nauzer Fauzi has been arrested by the Colombo Crime Division.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya ordered the Colombo Crime Division and the ASP in charge of Cinnamon garden area yesterday, to arrest UPFA Provincial Councilor Nauzar Fouzi and produce him before the court.

Nauzar Fouzi is wanted in connection with allegedly frightening a businessman with a firearm and threatening him in Torrington area in 2011.

Nauzar Fauzi is the son of former Disaster Management Minister A.H.M. Fauzi.

Meanwhile, the army corporal who carried a fire-arm to a meeting in Angunakolapalessa at which President Maithreepala Sirisena was attending has been further remanded until 19th of this month.

Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the remanded army corporal is attached to the security division of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
