The Financial Crimes Investigation Division questioned today Chief Custodian of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic Nilanga Delabandara in connection with an alleged financial fraud.
Police Media Spokesman’s Office stated that Nilanga Dela-bandara was questioned over 4 hours before a statement was recorded.
Meanwhile, former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was scheduled to give a statement to the Financial Crimes Investigation Division today, but he did not report to the Bribery Commission to do so.
When our news team contacted the former Defence Secretary, he said that he has requested for another day to record his statement.
Former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has been called to the FCID to obtain a statement in connection with an alleged fraud that had taken place in purchasing MiG Aircraft for Sri Lanka Air Force.
At the same time, Chairman of Avant Garde Nissanka Senadhipathi has also been called to the FCID toady in order to record a statement in connection with an alleged fraud of the institution.
The Police Media Spokesman stated that a statement was recorded after Senadhipathi was questioned by the detectives for over 2 hours.

FCID questions Kandy Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela
The Financial Crime Division is currently questioning Diyawadana Nilame of Kandy Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic Nilanga Dela bandara.
Dela bandara is being questioned in connection with an alleged financial fraud occurred at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
