GOTA’s stay order: PM seeks Int. Assistance

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe says that he hopes to consult the Commonwealth Legal Division with regard to the procedure the Supreme Court adopts with regard to the FR petition filed by Former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

The Prime Minister said so while participating at the National Mass Media Reorientation Conference held in Colombo yesterday.

A large number of Government and Opposition experts participated in the occasion.

Obtaining signatures for a public statement on the best interests of mass media also took place on this occasion.

The Prime Minister who participated in the occasion also expressed his views about appointing a commission for investigating about mass media personnel who had been killed or had gone missing.

Expressing his views further the Prime Minister said that it was through the media that he had come to know about the FR petition filed by former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
