Sangha Council to hand over report on Wilpattu

The National Sangha Council says that they would hand over a report to the President over the damage caused to part of the Wilpaththu – North Sanctuary and the Kallaru forest.

General Secretary of the Council Ven. Matara Ananda Sagara Thera stated this following an observation tour to Wilpaththu after Hiru TV CIA revealed the destruction caused to the forests.

Following the revelations made by HIRU TV with visual proof the wilpaththu forest destruction became a hot topic.

A media briefing was held with the participation of Secretary of the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment Nihal Rupasinghe after a report was handed over to the President.
