The Foreign Employment Bureau stated that 12 Sri Lankan migrant workers in Qatar will be blacklisted and deported to Sri Lanka by the Qatar government.

The Deputy General Manager Mangala Randeniya stated that this group of workers has staged a protest in their company, even after the Qatar government provided them with necessary facilities following the fire which erupted in their hostel.

Due to this reason, he added that the Qatar police arrested the group of Sri Lankan migrant workers and their employers have taken measures to deport them to Sri Lanka.
