Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that certain SLFP MPs have resorted to a double standard policy.

The Premier made this comment this afternoon, after opening an election Operation Office for Matara District UNP leader and Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera at Nupe in Matara.

Expressing his views further, the Prime Minister said that several political parties are collaborating to bring current president Maithripala Sirisena into power.

However certain SLFP MPs are campaigning against President Maithripala Sirisena’s manifesto.

He also said that the government obtained power with the mandate of the people, and therefore, they are ready to dissolve parliament at any given time as they are confident of being re-elected to power.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he raised a legal question over the recent judgment issued with regard to former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s Fundamental Rights Petition.

He said, although there is no problem for Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to file a FR petition, the problem is that certain SLFP MPs behavior against the Premier’s legal opinion.
